Sessions And Recaps
Schedule game nights, keep every session's recap and lore in one place, and let the session list number itself by date.

What Sessions Are
Every party has a Sessions page: the upcoming game nights at the top, the played ones below. A session is the anchor for everything that happened that night. Its recap, the lore it touched, the events it added to the chronicle, any transcript or encounter attached to it, and the notes each player wrote afterwards all hang off the same session.
Open a party and choose Sessions in the party navigation. Game Masters and managers can schedule; every member can read.
Scheduling A Game Night
Pick Schedule session, give the night a title and a date and time, and save. The new session appears under Upcoming and the party’s next-session chip points at it. Move it or cancel it later from the session view; a cancelled session keeps its history but drops out of the running count.
If nothing is scheduled yet, the page says so and offers the schedule form. If you already played and want the night logged, import the recap instead (below) and the session logs itself.
Recaps From Your Notes
The fastest way to log a session is to import the notes you already wrote. Paste them into the importer in recap mode, or paste them to your familiar and take the Start import handoff it offers. The importer matches the notes to your roster and your lore, proposes the session they belong to, and lands a recap on it along with the perspectives, entities and suggested events it found. Nothing is saved until you confirm the preview.
Which session is this?
The preview lists candidate sessions with the evidence for each match. A Likely match tag means the date, title or number lined up strongly. If none of them is right, choose Create a new session; if the notes were about a night nobody logged, that is exactly the fix.
How Sessions Are Numbered
The number you see on a session (“Session 12”) comes from date order, not from anything you typed. ScryRPG counts the party’s played and scheduled sessions by their calendar day, so logging last month’s forgotten night later renumbers everything after it, and next Friday’s game already knows it is Session 13. Cancelled sessions and sessions with no date carry no number.
Your notes may say something different. A recap that opens with “Session 14” keeps that number as a matching hint, and the session view shows “Session 14 in your notes” under the heading when it disagrees with the count. You can edit the stored number from the reschedule dialog if you want the hint to match.
The Session View
Open any session card to see the night in full: the recap and the lore it touched first, then the chronicle events it added (curators sweep suggested events here), then the attached records (transcripts and encounters) beside the curator’s changelog of imports. Members see what their party visibility allows; the recap and its perspectives are always party-visible.
Curators also resolve convergence flags here: when a player’s import created an entry that your hidden GM notes already covered, the flag shows both entries side by side and lets you merge one into the other or dismiss the flag.
A Quick Tour
The first time you visit a party’s Sessions page with at least one session listed, ScryRPG walks you through the list, the schedule button, a session card and the session view. You can replay it any time from Show me around sessions in the page header.
Common Questions
Can players schedule sessions? No. Game Masters and managers schedule, move and cancel; every member can import a recap and read everything the party can see.
What if two people import notes for the same night? The second import lands on the same session when the date or title matches. If the notes disagree enough that neither is a likely match, both importers can create; a curator can merge the two sessions afterwards from the session view.
Where did my session number go? A session shows no number when it has neither a played date nor a scheduled time, or when it was cancelled. Give it a date from the reschedule dialog and it rejoins the count.
